Grace Road
A Gospel devotional for the journey out of addiction

The way out of addiction isn’t a method. It’s a Person.

For 92 days, walk with Jesus from Bethlehem to the empty tomb. Each day gives you one passage, one explanation, a few honest questions, and a prayer. It was written for people who are tired of fighting addiction on willpower alone.

Be honest for a moment

Does any of this sound like you?

You’ve said “never again”, and you meant it every single time.
You hide it well. Almost no one knows how heavy it really is.
On good days you feel accepted. On bad days, you hate yourself.
You believe God can change your life. Deep down, you doubt He wants to.
You’re tired of the guilt, of starting over, and of fighting alone.
A quiet voice keeps telling you it’s already too late.

If even one of these sounds like you, keep reading. This book was written for you, not for people who already have it all together.

From Day 1
Addiction pulls us away from the Light. It convinces you that God is far away or that He has given up on you… It labels you a loser and loads you with guilt and fear.

That voice has been lying to you. The darkness is real, but “the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it.”John 1:5

Why it keeps coming back

You don’t just need new habits. You need a new heart.

Apps, rules, blockers and promises all work on the outside, and for a while they help. The craving keeps coming back because the battle was never only about the substance, the screen, or the bottle.

Jesus said it plainly: what defiles us comes from within. That’s why He doesn’t offer a better self-improvement plan. He offers what God promised through the prophets: “I will give you a new heart, and put a new spirit within you.”

92 Days isn’t one more program for you to fail at. It walks you, one day at a time, to the only One who can do in you what you can’t do alone.

What addiction and guilt sayWhat Jesus says
“Try harder.”
“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.”Matthew 11:28
“Prove you’ve changed first.”
“I want to. Be made clean.”Mark 1:41
“You fell again. You’re done.”
“Neither do I condemn you. Go your way. From now on, sin no more.”John 8:11

Your 92-day journey

From Bethlehem to the empty tomb

Seven stages that follow the life of Jesus, and the road of someone coming home.

  1. I

    Jesus Draws Near

    Days 1–12

The Light comes into the darkness, and into yours. Identity, temptation, and the Lamb who takes away sin.

  2. II

    Come and See

    Days 13–27

The woman at the well, the leper, the paralyzed man, Matthew. Jesus goes to the people everyone else avoided.

  3. III

    The Kingdom Transforms the Heart

    Days 28–43

Storms, the man among the tombs, anxiety, and the rest Jesus offers the weary.

  4. IV

    Grace for the Lost

    Days 44–59

The bread of life, walking on water, the lost sheep. When you sink, His hand is faster than your fall.

  5. V

    Coming Home

    Days 60–72

The lost son, Zacchaeus, the woman caught in adultery, Lazarus walking out of the tomb.

  6. VI

    Surrender

    Days 73–82

The vine, the foot-washing, Gethsemane. Learning to say “Your will,” not “mine.”

  7. VII

    Failure, Cross, and New Life

    Days 83–92

Peter’s denial, Judas’ remorse, the cross, the empty tomb, and a breakfast on the beach.

Look inside

Read a page from Day 19

This is what all 92 days are like: it goes straight to the heart, and it never condemns. Read it slowly. Then answer the questions honestly.

DAY 19

Jesus Heals a Man with Leprosy

Mark 1:40–45
EXPLANATION

Leprosy was not just a disease; it was exclusion. The leper lived outside the town, shouted “unclean!” so no one would come near, and could go years without a human touch. This man knelt before Jesus and said, “If you want to, you can make me clean.” He did not doubt Jesus’ power, but His willingness.

Mark says Jesus was moved with compassion, stretched out His hand, and touched him. By the law, whoever touched a leper became unclean. But with Jesus the opposite happened: His purity passed into the man. “I want to. Be made clean.”

Jesus is not disgusted by us. He wants to make us clean, and His touch reaches exactly what we hide the most.

REFLECTION
  1. Do you believe God can change your life, but deep down doubt that He wants to?
  2. What has made you feel “unclean” and cut off from people and from God?

Excerpt from Day 19. Each day ends with a prayer and space to write your own.

They were where you are

Every person Jesus met had a story like yours

The Gospels are full of people who had run out of options. Over these 92 days you’ll walk beside them and see what happened when Jesus came near.

The woman at the well

Day 16
Before

Came to draw water alone at noon, hiding from people’s eyes.

When Jesus came near

Left her water jar and ran into town to tell everyone.

The man among the tombs

Day 34
Before

Isolated, out of control, hurting himself. Everyone had given up on him.

When Jesus came near

Sitting, clothed, in his right mind, and sent home to tell his story.

Matthew

Day 21
Before

Seen by everyone as a traitor and a public sinner.

When Jesus came near

Jesus said only, “Follow me.” And he got up and followed.

The man at Bethesda

Day 22
Before

Thirty-eight years in the same place, with the same excuses.

When Jesus came near

“Arise, take up your mat, and walk.”

Peter

Day 92
Before

Denied Jesus three times beside a fire.

When Jesus came near

Restored beside another fire: “Do you love me?… Follow me.”

The criminal on the cross

Day 86
Before

No time left, no good works, nothing to offer.

When Jesus came near

“Today you will be with me in Paradise.”

If Jesus did it for them, He is not too tired to do it for you.

“But what if I fall?”

This devotional was written for people who fall.

Peter and Judas both failed badly on the same night. The difference wasn’t the size of the sin. It was where each of them took his guilt. Peter wept and came back to Jesus. Judas carried his guilt alone.

There’s no shaming here. You’ll meet a Savior who saw Peter’s fall coming, prayed for his return, and afterwards made him breakfast. If you miss a day, or fall, just open the book and keep walking.

Remorse looks at the sin; repentance looks to the Savior.Day 84
When we sink, Jesus’ hand is faster than our fall.Day 45
Who it’s for

Whatever has been holding you

The book never pretends one addiction is worse than another. It goes to the root they all share, a heart drinking from a well that never satisfies, and points to the only water that does.

Praying for someone you love?

A son, a husband, a friend, a parent. You can’t walk the road for them, but you can put the road in their hands. 92 Days will still be speaking to them on the nights you can’t be there.

Imagine Day 92

Breakfast on the beach

Ninety-two days from now you’ll read the last page. Peter, the one who failed, is sitting by a charcoal fire while Jesus makes him breakfast. Three times Jesus asks, “Do you love me?” He isn’t trying to humiliate him. He’s restoring him completely.

The last word about Peter’s failure was not condemnation. It was a new beginning. Yours can be too.

You Made It to Day 92

Ninety-two days ago, Jesus came near to you exactly as you were. Today, He is not finished with you. He is sending you forward.

“Feed my sheep… Follow me.” (John 21:17, 19)

Questions

Before you begin

Does this replace treatment, counseling, or a recovery group?

No, and it doesn’t try to. 92 Days goes alongside whatever help you’re already getting from your church, a counselor, a group or a treatment program. What it adds is daily, quiet time with Jesus, a foundation for everything else. The book itself tells you: don’t walk alone.

I feel far from God. Is this still for me?

Especially for you. As Day 12 puts it, Jesus “does not call people who are ready. He calls them and then transforms them.” You don’t have to clean up first. All you have to do is open Day 1.

What if I miss a day or relapse?

Pick up where you left off. The book is built on grace, not perfection. That’s exactly why it spends whole days on Peter’s denial and his restoration.

How long does each day take?

Plan on about 15–20 quiet minutes to read the passage and explanation, answer the questions, and pray. Some days you’ll want to stay longer.

Which Bible translation does it use?

Scripture quotations are based on the World English Bible (WEB), a modern translation in the public domain.

How will I receive it?

Right after checkout you get the digital devotional (PDF). Read it on your phone, tablet or computer, or print it and write by hand.

Can I buy it for someone else?

Yes. Many people buy it for a family member or friend who is struggling. Buy a copy, then send it to them with a personal note, or print it and give it to them as a journal.

Not tomorrow. Today.

In Nazareth, Jesus read that He had been sent “to proclaim release to the captives,” and then said, “Today, this Scripture has been fulfilled.” Addiction has already taken enough from you. The door is narrow, but it is open.
